Getting high
La Mesa Roldán is an extinct volcanic cone, which cráter is half eroded. The Mesa Roldán watchtower was built in 1766 to protect the maritime traffic against the siege of barber pirates.
The area has been the scene of numerous movies and series, “How I won the war” starring John Lennon and Games of Thrones among others. Leaving the town of Agua Amarga we will find steep slopes for 5 kilometers with máximum slopes of 15% and averages of 10%.
It will lead us to the fortification from where we can enjoy an unbeatable view of the Almería coast.
